Over at the Liberators! Yahoo Group, in the Files page, I have posted a new article and scenario on the Battle of Gavilan - May 5, 1817. This battle was fought in Chile a few months after the Battle of Chacabuco. This article continues the trend I started with the release of the Battle of Cerro de Pasco scenario of highlighting some of the smaller combats that occurred during the Wars of Independence.
Work on "The Adventures of the British & Irish Legions" continues apace and I am very pleased with how this book is shaping up. I also received the initial batch of British Legion figures from Mike Broadbent. I'll be having some of these painted up for use in demonstration games. There's some awesome, colorful uniforms in the upcoming book so I can't wait to get some of these color schemes on the new figures!
Finally, the new Osprey book on the British & Irish Legions, "Conquer or Die"* is on the verge of release. Be sure to get a copy and let the good folks at Osprey know you want to see more South American titles. I've still got that 1806-07 British Expedition to Buenos Aires title for the Campaign Series waiting to develop! Ha ha!
* I tried linking to Osprey Publishing but their website is not responding as I post. I'm sure most of you have it bookmarked or can find it easily enough....
